Chris & Sheila Hawthorne started Okanagan Oasis B&B in Peachland over 20 years ago.

Chris has lived in the central Okanagan for most of his life, while Sheila grew up on the Sunshine Coast, in Gibsons, BC, then moved to Ontario for several years for university (Queen's!) and work.  Her career and family brought her back to BC in 1999 when she relocated to Kelowna, where she eventually met Chris.

Chris has been running the B&B full time for over 20 years.  Yes, Chris is the full time chief cook, pool boy, gardener and schmoozer, while Sheila handles "the computer work" (emails, web listings, book keeping, etc.).  Let's put it this way - Chris still has a flip phone, and it's not one of the new trendy ones!

Sheila is an engineer who works full time as the Operations Manager at a local manufacturing company in Penticton.

Their son, Mason, is now attending UBCO and is following in his mom's footsteps in engineering.  He graduated high school in 2023 with a "double dogwood" (French Immersion) so when he's around home don't be shy about speaking to him en francais - it's good practice for him!

All of the Hawthornes love to travel and experience new locations and cultures.  While they do visit "typical" tropical resort areas, they also enjoy finding places that are a little off the beaten path.

Between Chris and Sheila, they have seen much of Canada (but still lots to explore!), the US, and Mexico, along with some places in the Caribbean, Central America and the UK.
